The fourth phase of excavations also included the second community project event undertaken on Southend pier. The event took place on 7th August 2015, as part of the British Festival of Archaeology. Having completed the final dive of the week, the archaeologists brought their finds onto the end of the pier for the Project Volunteers to undertake find-sorting, packing for transfer and preventive conservation of the objects.
